You hear some pretty amazing health claims for air purifiers that claim to "ionize" the air in your home.
In fact, the ozone emitted by ionizing air cleaners is a growing concern as sales increase.
People with asthma or respiratory allergies are especially sensitive to indoor ozone, an irritant that can worsen asthma, deaden the sense of smell, raise sensitivity to pollen and mold, and possibly cause permanent lung damage.
Best solution: a good filter on your home heating and cooling system and a clean house with -- sorry, cat lovers -- no pets.
