You've no doubt seen te emails already...
Amazing traffic counts, at even more amazing prices.
How's that old saying go..."If it sounds too good to be true..."
Traffic is not cheap. Period.
Quality hits cost a premium, whether thru a PPC engine or a traffic-reseller...and your total CPV (CostPerVisitor) depends on your secondary promotion methods.
Be aware that the number of Start-page services has exploded in the last few years...and many of them are of the auto-surf type.
You know how a startpage service works; As a member, you simply open a browser to your coded startpage and start earning hits to your site by clicking the "next" button after a timed period...You see other members' sites, and others see yours.
Fair enough...but the auto-surf types don't require you to click a "next" button.
The open browser just cycles thru member sites, whether you're looking or not.
You can minimize the window, and use another to go about your business...and this is the problem.
First, as a member, you are not getting visitors.
Hits are NOT visitors.
I can "Hit" your site 50 times without seeing it once.
Second, When you buy bargain-basement traffic (either direct or banner-space) from a site that also runs an auto-hits service, you're being ripped off.
BTW: Selling traffic is where the money is in running an auto-surf service.
Another scam is in Popup traffic.
Who doesn't hate popups?
Sure, your hitcounter will move...because the popup opened, and it took a second or two for the victim to click it closed.
Startpage services that require a click between pages, and use coded bars, are a good advertising investment, as are most of the PTR programs.
These offer direct and targeted traffic, and the cost is reasonable.
Always ask about, and research, the source of the traffic you're buying before handing over your limited advertising dollars...and no matter how much you really want, buy the "starter" package as a test-run.
Thanx for your time,
JB.
